(WKBW/Cleveland Clinic) Halloween is still several weeks away, but candy displays are already popping up like its October 30th.
A lot of stores are beginning to cut prices on candy to get you to buy it early, but psychologists say don't fall for it. They say if you buy it now, chances are you will eat it all before Halloween.
Experts say dieters should especially try avoiding candy altogether by passing out pencils or small, inexpensive toys to the kids.
If you're a traditionalist, experts say your best bet is to wait until
a day or two before Halloween to buy your candy, and if you find a deal on candy that is too sweet to pass up, go ahead and buy it, but put it out of sight and where it's not easily accessible.
Doctors also recommend buying just one type of candy, so you're not sampling a bunch and eating more.
