New Buffalo Program To Fight Childhood Obesity

(WKBW) A new afterschool program is kicking off in the Buffalo School District to help tackle the growing childhood obesity epidemic.
At School 54, the Doctor Blackman School of Excellence, students are brushing up on their soccer drills, as part of the new program called "Soccer for Success."
The Independent Health Foundation is one of 13 organizations across the country to receive a $300,000 grant for the program.
It'll also teach students about nutrition and offer mentorship for at-risk kids.
The Independent Health Foundation will implement the program in 11 city schools, allowing a 1000 kids, grades 3 to 5 to take part!
