(WKBW/ABC) The size of your waist could affect your health. A new study showed that having a thick waist increases a person's risk of dying from any cause, but it has been associated with abnormal cholesterol levels, heart disease, and type 2 diabetes.
The fat tissue surrounding stomach organs is thought to be more dangerous than fat tissue under the skin, and oddly enough, the association between a large waist size and death was strongest among women in a normal overall weight range.
