(WKBW/ABC News) Researchers say soy can be beneficial to women who have had breast cancer.
Soy products contain chemicals called isoflavones that some feared might increase the risk of cancer recurrence among breast cancer patients, but a new study shows soy foods did not increase the risk of cancer recurrence or death in breast cancer survivors.
In fact, researchers say soy may help lower breast cancer risk.
Researchers stress their findings apply to soy foods not to soy
supplements.
