(WKBW/CLEVELAND CLINIC) County fairs are a fun, summertime tradition, but you may head home with more than that giant stuffed animal!
Medical experts at the Cleveland Clinic say the county fairs are a perfect breeding ground for E. coli because it can be transmitted through farm animals, and there are usually a lot of people eating ground beef that can sometimes be contaminated with E. coli. Symptoms include diarrhea, stomach pain, vomiting and fever.
Doctors say the best way to prevent E. coli is to pay attention to what you're touching and eating by washing hands really well, not eating undercooked meat, and making sure produce is washed really well.
