The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends no TV for children under two years old. But, according to a new study from the University of Washington, 90 percent of kids under the age of two watch television regularly, which may lead to developmental problems.
Researchers from the University of Washington studied toddlers who watched two or more hours of TV a day. The result? They found for every hour of TV watched per day, the risk of developing attention problems by age seven increased by 10-percent. So, three hours per day equals a 30 percent greater risk. This begs the question, do kids get used to the stimulation of TV and then get bored in the classroom? The answer isn't clear but experts say parents should be cautious.
