According to the Charleston (S.C.) Post and Courier, a 65-year-old South Carolina sheriff was arrested and booked into a jail bearing his name this week for allegedly slapping a handcuffed suspect.
The sheriff faces a charge of third-degree assault and battery, according to the Post and Courier report.
