Buffalo, NY (WKBW) - A Buffalo man has been charged in the brutal murder of his wife in their east side home,
32-year-old Antoine Mattox was charged with second degree murder of his wife, 38-year-old Nedra E. Thomas-Mattox.
Buffalo police say they were called to 88 Andover Avenue on Monday afternoon at around 3:30.
The call to police came from the victim's landlord. Nedra was found dead in the rear bedroom of the home.
Shortly after arriving to the crime scene, police starting searching for her husband, Antoine Mattox. Police say he left the home around 1:30 in the afternoon.
Rochester police found him at a Greyhound Bus Stop.
"We believe he took off on a bus," Chief Dennis Richards said. "He was picked up at a bus station by the Rochester Police Department and held for our detectives. We went down there, picked him up and on the way back he confessed to his acts."
Buffalo police say they had responded to that house for domestic violence calls multiple times in the past.
Authorities are not releasing a cause of death, but Richards said it was an exceptionally violent crime scene.
