Buffalo, N.Y. (WKBW release) -- Millions of people are about to be introduced to Buffalo Niagara’s incredible art, architecture, culture, sports, nature, food, lodging, events and entertainment.
According to a news release:
Visit Buffalo Niagara recently announced the creation of a new Buffalo Niagara Visitor Center within the Buffalo Niagara International Airport, made possible through a generous grant from First Niagara.
The center, which is currently under construction, will be located on the secure side of the airport. Its sleek, yet welcoming design will feature:
An information desk, where knowledgeable VBN associates will provide free visitor assistance
Video screens depicting landscapes, attractions and events around Buffalo Niagara
Brochure racks with visitor materials
Buffalo-related merchandise for sale
The new center will complement VBN’s existing visitor center in the Market Arcade Building at 617 Main St. in downtown Buffalo.
“Four years ago, Visit Buffalo Niagara created a strategic plan that called for adding a Buffalo Niagara Visitor Center in the Buffalo Niagara International Airport. Today, we are making that plan a reality,” said Visit Buffalo Niagara President and CEO Dottie Gallagher-Cohen. “Five million passengers fly in and out of the airport each year. Capturing even a fraction of this audience will have an enormous impact on our tourism industry.”
Erie County Executive Mark Poloncarz shared his enthusiasm for the project, saying, “The new Visitor Center provides an excellent opportunity for our region to make a great first impression. I’m hopeful that many business travelers, especially Canadians, will become frequent visitors to our area after stopping at the new Center to see everything there is to do in Western New York."
