Amherst, NY (WKBW) - Gas prices are on the rise in Western New York. The average price for unleaded gas is $3.85 a gallon. That's 15 cents more a gallon than this time last year.

Experts say the violence in Iraq is contributing to consumers paying more at the pump.

Despite the increase, AAA forecasts more people on the road this holiday weekend. About 35 million people are expected to travel by car for the Fourth of July. That's the most since 2007.
