BUFFALO (WKBW) Doug Marrone is reportedly set to take the reigns of the Bills as head coach, and while some opinions were mixed, fans at Tully's on Niagara Falls Boulevard were cautiously optimistic.
"I know he helped turn around the Syracuse program, so hopefully he can do the same in Buffalo," RJ McCormick said.
"Hopefully it'll do something positive for us, make some changes. Their quarterback is pretty good, we might have a chance to get him in the draft," Daniel Rodriguez added.
Marrone finished with a .500 record at Syracuse and led the team to two bowl game wins. Because of that, fans in Central New York were not thrilled by the reports of Marrone to the Bills.
"What I've been hearing and what I've been reading, it really isn't positive," Dan Cohen of WAER Sports Radio in Syracuse said.
But Cohen believes the fact that Orange fans aren't happy to see their winning coach leave could mean positives for the Bills and their fans.
"The fact that the fans are mad that Marrone is leaving, that's a pretty positive thing because they want him to continue a winning culture that hasn't been there over the last ten years," Cohen added.
