Buffalo, N.Y. (WKBW) - It's been a whirlwind of a week for the Pinnacle Charter School family.
On Sunday they got the news that the state was closing the school due to poor test scores, and with no luck fighting the decision in court-- Buffalo Public Schools may be able to help.
The Buffalo Board of Education voted today to move forward with the proposal from leadership at Pinnacle to allow Buffalo Public Schools to annex the Pinnacle building.
This means that the school building will stay open but it would operate as a public district school and not as a charter.
As far as the staff goes, laid off Buffalo Public School Teachers would be given first priority when it comes to jobs.
Pinnacle staff and teachers will also have the chance to interview as well.
This plan will stay in place for one year at least.
Officials from both Pinnacle and the district are to meet Thursday evening to iron out the details and give the final okay.
