WILLIAMSVILLE (WKBW) The deep freeze here in Western New York continues, with temperatures in single digits, wind chill and real feel temps well below zero, and piles of snow much bigger the average human. And while most Western New Yorkers remain in the icy grip of Mother Nature, others aren't. In fact, some people are just downright hot.
When the temps drop, the mercury rises at Bikram Yoga in Williamsville.
"It's hot yoga, the original hot yoga. We do 26 postures and 2 breathing exercises. It's done in the heat, it's hot hot hot, we get it to be about 105 with high humidity. So when you walk in, you'll sweat right away," Yoga Director Becky Machado said.
Just up the road, the kitchen of the Original Pancake House is just as hot as cooks fry up some household favorites.
"All the equipment running at full steam, all temperatures are maxed out, it provides a nice warm environment on a day like this," owner RJ Jewula said.
And working in these conditions when it gets near zero tends to be more bearable than mid summer.
"No one complains about the heat on a day like this, and then of course when our summer days are as hot as they are, that's all they complain about, is that it's too hot," Jewula added.
So whether it's breathing in or ordering up, at least it's better than a blizzard.
