Sheehan Hospital In Buffalo Announces Expansion

The once struggling Sheehan Hospital in Buffalo is not only surviving, it's now thriving.
The hospital announcing its expansion plans at a news conference at the Michigan Avenue health care facility. The front entrance and first floor will be renovated to create a more welcoming environment for its patients.
It's only the second hospital in New York State to become what's called "a patient centered medical home", offering primary and specialty health care for newborns to the elderly. The hospital also providing dental care, and addiction services, addressing the growing challenge of improving healthcare in the city.
The services provided at Sheehan are part of a collaborative effort, including UB's Medical School, Kaleida Health, Roswell Park Cancer Institute, and ECMC.
Most of the two million dollar project is funded with a state grant. The renovations are expected to be complete by the end of the year.

The surgeons also perform a full range of Plastic and Reconstructive procedures in the hospital when out-patient office surgery is not indicated.
