Buffalo, N.Y. (WKBW release) -- The Buffalo City Mission announced Thursday that it has exceeded its annual “One Mission, One Hope” fall campaign goal by raising over $2.07 Million dollars due to the open-handed generosity of our community.

The funds will help sustain our programs and services for Buffalo’s area poor and homeless.

“With the support of our community of donors that have given bountifully to ensure that others do not go without, we were able to exceed our campaign goal. The Buffalo City Mission is now able to continue to provide the services that are needed to help every man, woman or child that seeks out our organization for help,” Stuart Harper, executive director of the Buffalo City Mission said in a news release. “With roughly, 58% of the homeless population experiencing homelessness for the first time, the need for our services is so critical. Those who are homeless rely on the Mission to provide them a roof over their heads, a place to sleep, food to eat and clothing to keep them warm. A place they can call home for a period of time. Everyone is welcome.”

“Today, the Buffalo City Mission is more than just providing food, clothing and shelter. It is about making an “Impact within our Community”, said Harper. “It’s about changing the face of homelessness. Each day our staff focuses on helping the homeless get back on their feet. Our goal is to supply a stable housing solution for our clients while providing them with counseling, job skill training, which teaches them the skills necessary to obtain a job and provide them with the resources to become self-sufficient. Through our community partnerships further assistance in helping provide proper housing, job placement and on-going support is also available to those of whom we serve to help ensure a brighter future. With these services, coupled with a new foundation with Jesus Christ, these men and women are having a “Second Chance” at changing their lives from one of hopelessness to one of HOPE.”
