Throughout the ages, scholars and students have strived to understand how our bodies function through exploration of real human specimens. The revolutionary process of Plastination, invented by Dr. Gunther von Hagens, allows human specimens to be presented in a completely new and enlightening way. BODY WORLDS & The Story of the Heart features more than 200 authentic specimens, including entire bodies, individual organs and transparent body slices. The exhibit is an unforgettable anatomy lesson that allows visitors to see and understand physiology and health, and gain new appreciation and respect for what it means to be human. Nearly 25 million visitors around the world have experienced BODY WORLDS exhibitions.
The striking whole-body Plastinates in BODY WORLDS—people who in their lifetime donated their bodies for Plastination for the express purpose of educating future generations about health—allow viewers to see inside the staggeringly complex and completely interconnected network of muscles, tendons and blood vessels that make up our bodies.

BODY WORLDS & The Story of the Heart opens at The Buffalo Museum of Science July 9, 2009 for a limited engagement.

Admission prices are $22.00 for adults (ages 13-61); $19.50 for seniors (62+); $16.00 for children 3 to 12. Special rates for schools and other groups of 15 and over apply. Audio guides in English and Spanish are also available at $5.00 for adults and $3.00 for children. Audio guides for groups are $5.00, and audio guides for children or school groups are $3.00.
