The Third Annual African American Cultural Center Afternoon Tea Social will be held on Sunday, June 30, 2013 from 2 to 4 p.m. at 350 Masten Avenue.
This fund-raising event was founded in 2011 in mission collaboration with the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra. The fun, family-oriented afternoon provides families, young children and communities with an opportunity to listen to classical music, and indulge in treats and teas from around the world. In keeping with the AACC founding mission, this event promotes Buffalo’s cultural diversity and African American contributions to the cultural arts.
This year’s Tea Social includes:
-Annual performance donated by BPO musicians
-Featured artist local opera singer Theresa Humes-Jordan as the featured artists
-A performance by brother and sister violinists Johnny and Jaliyah Linton
-Our traditional “Fancy Hat Contest” -- for good fun and laughs!!!
All proceeds support our youth programs, which provide Buffalo schoolchildren with homework help after school, math and reading tutoring, life skills guidance, summer camp, theater arts training and cultural enrichment activities.
