Event Description
A three part, horticulture workshop is being held by Blessed Sacrament Church of Buffalo on February 27th, March 6th, and March 20th, as part of its 125th Anniversary celebration. Each session runs from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and will be held in the Catholic Academy of West Buffalo Gymnasium located at 1069 Delaware Avenue. Free parking is available in the school parking lot.
The session topics will feature the following:
February 27th: Preserving Flowers & Foliage and Making Potpourri. You will learn how to preserve flowers and make potpourri. Each participant will leave with the potpourri made in the session.
March 6th: Hand-tying Flowers. You will get a jump on Spring by learning the technique of making a hand‐tied floral bouquet and how to display in a glass vase.
March 20th: Creating Garden Magic. The final session will give you tips for garden ecology, managing the systems in a home landscape that help you go from Spring blossoms to Summer blooms.
David Clark is an extremely knowledgeable, entertaining, and nationally recognized Horticulture Instructor, Gardening Expert and Event Judge. He has taught the wildly popular Horticulture Certification Series I and II (levels III and IV will appear in 2013) at the Buffalo and Erie County Botanical Gardens. He has also given presentations for Garden Centers ‐ including Lockwood's Greenhouses in Hamburg, NY, Urban Roots Community Garden Center in Buffalo, NY, and Cornell Cooperative Master Gardeners of Erie, Allegany and Cattaraugus Counties, 8th District Garden Clubs, and Schools. David's Horticulture Classes have been listed as a 'Go to Event' on the Buffalo Niagara Visitor's Bureau website. Tickets for this event are being sold as a package for all three sessions: Non‐parishioners cost $60 per ticket; parishioners cost $40 per ticket.
