The Niagara Frontier Watercolor Society announces its February meeting and artist demonstration, to be held on Thursday, February 21st at 7 pm at the Amherst Community Church on Washington Hwy in Snyder. The featured artist demonstrator will be Catherine O'Neill.
An active member of the Niagara Frontier Watercolor Society, Catherine was introduced to watercolor painting in a beginner’s class given at the Centennial Art Center of Hamburg nearly 15 years ago. Since then she has enjoyed painting a wide variety of subject matter using transparent watercolor, but her favorite images often include Adirondack landscapes and scenes of her family life. O’Neill is a juried member of the Buffalo Society of Artists and the Buffalo Niagara Arts Association, and holds signature membership in a number of watercolor societies, including the American Watercolor Society, the National Watercolor Society, and the Transparent Watercolor Society of America. She has had paintings published in Splash 9, Splash 10 and Splash 11: The Best of Watercolor and has written a chapter in the book Watercolor Secrets: An Inside Look at the Techniques of Award-Winning Splash Artists. Her work was featured in an article in the Spring 2010 edition of Watercolor Magazine.
Visitors are invited to hear about watercolor classes and upcoming events, watch the demo, and enjoy refreshments with a group of enthusiastic fellow artists and art lovers.
