West Seneca Environmental Commission
8:30am-12pm

Joint project with WS Highway Department and Re-Tree of WNY

The West Seneca Environmental Commission has been asked to partner with the West Seneca Highway Department and Re-Tree of WNY in a tree planting event in West Seneca on Saturday, November 3, 2012.

Volunteers are needed to plant trees throughout the Town that day. The Town Highway department will pre-dig the holes and will deliver the trees to the marked locations the day before the event.

We will meet at the WS Highway garage at 8am on Saturday, November 3 to team up and get instructions for planting and directions to the various sites. We should all be done by noon.

Volunteers need to dress appropriately for the weather conditions that day and wear sturdy shoes as the event will be held rain or shine. Volunteers are asked to bring their own work gloves and a shovel and a rake if they have one. A pair of pruners may be helpful, too, for cutting twine or stray branches.

Interested volunteers need to contact Ann Rappold of the West Seneca Highway Department to sign up for this event: arappold@twsny.org

This is a great opportunity for high-schoolers who may need community service hours.
