Event Description

September 26, 2012 Updated Sep 26, 2012 at 2:23 PM EDT

A FREE War of 1812 Speaker Series event. Like the war, First Presbyterian Church is celebrating its bicentennial. The event will begin with the church's historian, followed by a short program of 1812-period music by the popular Docenko Brothers. Then Thomas Schofield, immediate past chair of the Niagara 1812 Bicentennial Legacy Council, and David Franczyk, Fillmore District Common Councilmember, will discuss the local and international impact of the war. Sponsored by the Buffalo & Erie County Naval & Military Park, this event is made possible by a grant from the Buffalo & Erie County Standing Committee of the Niagara Greenway Commission to the Niagara 1812 Bicentennial Legacy Council for the Park's bicentennial celebration.
