The story of the Mirabal sisters, considered national heroines in the Dominican Republic for their active participation in the fight against the rule of long-time dictator Rafael Trujillo, will be focused on at a Women’s History Month presentation being held at Hilbert College. “Ordinary Citizens, National Heroines: The Mirabal Sisters’ Role in Overthrowing Dominican Dictator Trujillo” will be discussed by Jennifer Rossi, Ph.D., assistant professor of American Studies at St. John Fisher College. Free and open to the public.
