Event Description
On Friday, February 11th, 2011, at 1:15 p.m. at the Olean Middle School Gymnasium and Pool, OMS Principal Jerry Trietley will be completing a number of challenges which he placed upon the 8th grade students in conjunction with the National Souper Bowl of Caring Olean Event. Mr. Trietley challenged the 8th graders to donate more canned goods than ever before! The total OMS donations more than quadrupled during the annual food drive which benefits the Olean Food Pantry! Olean Middle School students and staff donated more than one thousand two hundred canned goods in a mere four days.
Early Friday morning, Mr. Trietley’s wife, Tracey, will paint his toe nails hot hot pink. Upon arriving at OMS, Principal Trietley will meet in his office with some 8th graders who will be painting his finger nails the same hot-hot pink! Upon completion, Mr. Trietley will don flip flops and visit all of the 8th grade classrooms to show off his hot hot pink finger nails and toe nails.
At noon, he will put on his favorite clown suit, and once again visit all of the 8th grade classrooms as part of his response to the National Souper Bowl of Caring Olean Event challenge made to the 8th graders in early February. In response to the students overwhelming contributions, Mr. Trietley will go to the OMS gym and students will line up to throw whipped cream topped sponges at him, but the fun for the students and staff still isn’t over.
The OMS 8th graders and their teachers will then head to the pool to witness Mr. Trietley jump in the school pool in all of his clothes! This caps off the incentives Mr. Trietley offered the students to outdo themselves in contributions to the National Souper Bowl of Caring Olean Event!
