(WKBW) The game had its ups and downs, its controversial calls, and an ending for the ages. Team USA taking on Brazil in the World Cup Quarterfinals Sunday.

In only the second minute of the game, the US cross ball was deflected into the Brazilian net by one of the Brazilian defenders. And just like that, the United States was leading 1-0.

The game would stay that way until a penalty in the box would result in a Brazilian penalty kick. It would also put the US down a player, after a red card. The shot was saved dramatically by US Goaltender Hope Solo. But in the midst of celebration, the referee would deem that there was movement on the US side, and the kick would have to be retaken. That opened the door for Marta, the best player in women's soccer. She took the penalty kick, and tied the game at one.

The game would go to extra time, when Marta would strike again. She tipped the ball in with a toe to put Brazil ahead. And things looked bleak for Team USA, playing with only ten on the field, to one of the top scoring clubs in the world.

In the 122nd of 123 minutes of extra time, Megan Rapinoe would send a cross into the box, where Abby Abby Wambach's header would find the back of the net and tie things up at 2 in the very last possible minute.

The game would go to penalty kicks. All balls would go in, until Hope Solo would deny one scorer and put the US in a great position. On the twelfth anniversary of the Chastain penalty kick to win the World Cup in 1999, Ali Krieger would score the final PK for the US, sealing the game, and moving the US on to the Semifinals.

The US will play France on Wednesday.
