(WKBW release) The New York State Department of Transportation has announced that bridge maintenance will begin on NY Route 198 (Scajaquada Expressway), in the vicinity of Elmwood Avenue, in the city of Buffalo, Erie County.
As a result, the NY Route 198 westbound exit ramp to Elmwood Avenue northbound will be closed beginning on Tuesday, May 29th at 9:00 a.m. The ramp closure is expected to last for approximately three weeks. A detour will be posted to direct traffic.
This work is weather sensitive and may be delayed in the event of inclement weather.
Motorists are reminded that fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone. In accordance with the Work Zone Safety Act of 2005, convictions of two or more speeding violations in a work zone could result in the suspension of an individual’s driver’s license.
