Each recipient was presented with a scholarship check at a special event Wednesday at the Tim Hortons Cafe & Bake Shop restaurant located at 1705 Niagara Falls Blvd. in Buffalo.

Scholarship recipients are:

• Jamie LeRoy (Daemen College)
• Scott Laing (University of Buffalo)

• Nathalie Tylinksi (State University of New York at Buffalo)
• Adam Randall (D’Youville College)
• Sean Smith (Niagara University)
• Brian Zylinksi (Canisius College)
• Timothy Horbachewski (Grove City College)

The Team Tim Hortons Scholarship Program is designed to recognize restaurant team members (as well as their children or grandchildren), who believe in giving back to their community through volunteer work and have plans to pursue post-secondary education.

Entering its seventh year, the program has already helped more than 1,000 students across North America with more than $1 million awarded so far in scholarships. This year another $220,000 will be distributed among 220 deserving students in both the United States and in Canada.

“We and the other owners are delighted to present these nine dedicated students with the 2011 Team Tim Hortons Scholarship,” said David and Allanna Kelly Beaton, Buffalo area Tim Hortons Cafe & Bake Shop restaurant owners. “We are so proud of these students’ commitment to the community and their personal desire to pursue a college education. We are happy be part of a company like Tim Hortons that can help area students fulfill their future goals and we wish them much success.”
