Jamestown, N.Y. (WKBW release) -- Want to sample the fare from restaurants, cafes, bars, and catering companies in the Jamestown area?
You'll again have the chance this July.
The Downtown Jamestown Development Corporation announced this week that the fifth annual Taste of Jamestown will return to downtown on Friday, July 29th and Saturday, July 30th.
Taste of Jamestown, which will run from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. both days, is an annual fundraiser for DJDC, with all proceeds benefiting the continuation of free downtown community events.
Participants in Taste of Jamestown will have booths set-up along Third Street between Main and Pine Streets providing a “sampling” of four items from their full menus. Patrons purchase tickets to sample the food items. DJDC will be operating two ticket booths along Third Street between Pine Street and Main Street. Tickets are 50 cents each and all items will range from 50 cents to $4.00.0
“This event is solely for the businesses to come down and take advantage of the unique opportunity for the community to “taste” what they have to offer. Our past participants were successful during Taste of Jamestown and continue to return each year, along with new vendors,” said Ashley Anderson, DJDC Special Events Coordinator.
Live entertainment will be provided on Potter’s Terrace during the event, featuring local bands.
Also, 106.9 KISS FM will return with its 4th Annual KISS the Cook contest. Each participating business will submit one item, either in the dessert category or entrée category, and the winner chosen as the event favorite will receive a commemorative plaque and a free advertising schedule from KISS 106.9.
