(Niagara Falls, ON Canada-release) Thursday afternoon, Fay Booker, General Manager of The Niagara Parks Commission (NPC) met with Nik Wallenda and his representative during an introductory meeting to discuss a possible Tight Rope Walk across the Niagara Gorge in 2012.
No formal proposal was presented during the meeting, and Mr. Wallenda and his representative inquired about the process they would need to follow, to pursue this initiative in the future. Mr. Wallenda was informed that a proposal in writing must be submitted. Any proposal will be examined to determine if it meets The Niagara Parks Act and its accompanying Regulations, as well as the new vision and strategies adopted by NPC after extensive community and employee consultations, to ensure it meets the best interests of the Park. Additionally, NPC requested the proposal address its concern over the possibility such a feat would encourage others to try and undertake possible stunting activities.
