Niagara Falls National Heritage Area Commission Awards Grants Commemorating the Bicentennial of the War of 1812

(WKBW release) The Niagara Falls National Heritage Area Commission awarded $32,335 in grants commemorating the bicentennial of the War of 1812 to the following organizations and projects:

Historic Association of Lewiston; Battle of Queenston Heights Commemoration & Reenactment

Lewiston Council of the Arts; Marble Orchard:  Spirits of 1812

Old Fort Niagara Association; Blue Coats along the Niagara

Niagara 1812 Legacy Council; Niagara 1812 Website.   

While working on the development of their management plan, The Niagara Falls National Heritage Area created this early action priority funding to recognize and assist local organizations who were working on projects commemorating the bicentennial of the War of 1812.  

The Niagara Falls National Heritage Area is proud to assist the efforts of local organizations to commemorate the role our region had in this important chapter of our nation’s history. 
This program represents the mission and vision of the Niagara Falls National Heritage Area through partnership with a network of heritage area partners who seek to make interpretive, environmental, economic and social improvements that benefit residents and visitors alike.
