Niagara Falls, N.Y. (WKBW release) -- The annual Niagara Cup Classic golf tournament was a success again this year, raising nearly $45,000 to support the Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center's Cardiac Telemetry Unit.
The 20th annual event attracted 150 participants to Niagara Falls Country Club on June 7.
Tournament co-chair Ron Campbell, Buffalo Sabres alumnus Rene Robert, Sandro Borgese and Don McLeod were the winning foursome (pictured at right). Women's all-star champions were Phyllis Moore, Patty Berggren, Patty McPherson and Lori Michael. Ken Blazick captured first-place honors for gross score with a 66.
This year’s tournament included a tribute to the Buffalo Sabres’ Rick Martin, a longtime Memorial supporter who died unexpectedly in March. The tribute included a donation by the medical center to Compass House, Martin’s favorite charity.
