SOUTH BUFFALO, NY (WKBW) -- It's an exciting time at the former Buffalo Color site in South Buffalo, as new plans are being unveiled for the site. "An exciting day and it's going to be a really exciting development," Jon Williams, President of South Buffalo Development, said.

35 acres along the Buffalo River will become the Heritage Discovery Center, which will have the Steel Plant Museum that's currently located in Lackawanna, and the Railway Historical Society's Railroad Museum. "I can't think of a better location to celebrate the cultural heritage of these two mainstay industries in our region," Jay Kelly, Honeywell Buffalo Research Laboratory Site leader, said.

"The theme is the industrial heritage of our region and having a facility that preserves, promotes, and educates the population and the people of today of where we were and who we are," Williams said.

Equipment will be moved onto the site at the end of this year. The first phase of the project should be finished early next year.
