Meals on Wheels for Western New York Appoints New Members to Board of Directors

Buffalo, N.Y. (WKBW release) -- Meals on Wheels for Western New York, Inc., a nonprofit agency providing home-delivered meals and related support services to the homebound elderly and disabled in Erie County, elected three new members to its board of directors.

The new appointments are: Lynne Dixon, Erie County Legislator, District 12; Jeffrey A. Leavoy, CPA, vice president of finance at Janya, Inc.; and P.J. Heffernan, store manager at Wegmans Food Markets, Inc. in Amherst, NY.

The mission of Meals on Wheels for Western New York, Inc. is to deliver daily nutritious meals and to provide related support services to those members of the community who have a limited ability to shop and/or prepare meals for themselves.

In 2010, the organization delivered more than 810,000 meals to homebound elderly and special-needs residents of Erie County through a volunteer-base of more than 1,600 individuals. For more information, visit, www.mealsonwheelswny.org.
