SARASOTA, Florida - Authorities arrested a 69-year-old man on Tuesday, accusing him of embezzling $600,000 from a 97-year-old woman and using part of the money to buy himself a 2007 Lamborghini worth nearly $200,000.
NBC station WFLA-TV reported that Joseph Cirillo of Sarasota, Florida, was charged with exploitation of the elderly.
Deputies said that since March, Cirillo moved nearly $600,000 from Seidel's financial accounts to his personal accounts.
Deputies say the Lamborghini was purchased in July, after Cirillo plunked down two checks totaling $181,229 drawn on accounts to which the victim's money was transferred.
Seidel previously had granted Cirillo authority to oversee her affairs, and designated him as the trustee of her living trust.
