Buffalo, N.Y. (WKBW release) -- Hodgson Russ announced Wednesday that John P. Amershadian has been named the law firm’s president and CEO, effective February 1, 2012.

Amershadian joined Hodgson Russ as an associate attorney in 1976 and became a partner in 1984. His legal practice is concentrated in complex transactional work, including bank and other financings and the purchases and sales of businesses. He has been listed for at least ten years in Best Lawyers, currently under Banking and Finance Law. In addition to serving numerous Hodgson Russ clients, Mr. Amershadian has held critical administrative roles with the firm, including most recently leading the Real Estate, Finance & Bankruptcy Practice Area. Mr. Amershadian is a director and the treasurer and audit committee chair of the Western New York Public Broadcasting Association (WNED-Channel 17), as well as a director and the vice president of Buffalo Civic Auto Ramps (BCAR) and a 1992 graduate of Leadership Buffalo.
