Japanese Citizens Return $78 Million in Cash Found in Earthquake Rubble

(ABCNews.com) The Japanese reputation for honesty remains fully intact in the aftermath of the earthquake and tsunami that ravaged much of the nation's coastline five months ago.

Since the disaster, people have turned in thousands of wallets found in the debris, containing $48 million in cash. In addition, more than 5,700 safes that washed ashore, containing a total of $30 million in case, were taken to police centers by volunteers and search and rescue crews.
