Wheatfield, N.Y. (WKBW release) -- As representatives in the 15-member Niagara County Legislature were sworn in around Niagara County this past weekend, several were taking oaths for the first time as elected officials.
These newly-elected lawmakers include Legislator Kathryn Lance, R-Wheatfield, Legislator Cheree Copelin, R-LaSalle, Legislator Owen Steed, D-Niagara Falls, and Legislator Jason Zona, D-Niagara Falls.
The freshmen grouping come from different walks of life. Lance and Copelin are teachers. Steed is a liaison for the Niagara Falls Police Department who has been active in his community. Zona is a Niagara Falls city employee.
