GOWANDA, NY (WKBW) -- The former Gowanda Police officer who pleaded guilty to misconduct and staged his own shooting will be in court Thursday.
Jason Miller accepted a plea for taking pizzas from a woman for covering up a traffic ticket. Part of the plea included the admission that Miller staged his own shooting in September of 2008.
Miller hung his bulletproof vest from a tree and shot it with a non-police issued handgun and then claimed he had been shot on duty, launching a massive manhunt for a non-existent suspect.
Miller resigned shortly after the incident, and could face up to a year in jail when sentenced.
