Niagara Falls, N.Y. (WKBW release) -- New York Congresswoman Louise Slaughter toured the future site of the Niagara Falls Culinary Institute & Hospitality and Tourism Center at the former Rainbow Centre in downtown Niagara Falls on Monday.
Niagara County Community College President James P. Klyczek took Congresswoman Slaughter on the tour of the first floor of the facility and reviewed the latest architectural plans for the three story complex with NCCC Board members F. Robert Sdao and Gina Virtuoso.
Congresswoman Slaughter provided $100,000 in funding for the culinary labs in 2010 and was an early supporter of the project.
The $17.1 million dollar project is scheduled to be open in the fall of 2012 and will include a fully operational restaurant, pastry shop, wine boutique and Barnes & Noble bookstore. It is estimated that the NF Culinary Institute will eventually house between 800 to 1,000 students, faculty and staff.
