BUFFALO, NY (WKBW) - John Tavares' hat trick and Scott Self's overtime goal helped the Buffalo Bandits to a 15-14 win over the Toronto Rock on Saturday night.
Buffalo opened a 13-8 fourth quarter lead but Toronto rallied to tie the game twice. Stephan Leblanc knotted the game at 14 with ten seconds to go in regulation. Leblanc had three goals and five assists for the Rock.
Scott Self ended things 4:01 into the overtime period.
Tavares added two assists to go with his three goals. The National Lacrosse League's all-time leading scorer now has 697 career goals.
The Bandits improve to 2-1. The Rock fall to 3-1.
The two teams will meet again on Saturday, January 29th.
