BUFFALO, NY - (NLL.com) John Grant Jr. became the third player in the NLL history with 500 career goals and the Colorado Mammoth bounced back from their first loss of the season with a 16-13 victory over the Buffalo Bandits on Saturday night.

Grant joined John Tavares and Gary Gait into the 500-goal club with his fourth and final goal of the game at 13:23 of the third quarter, giving Colorado (7-1) a 13-11 lead. Grant also had five assists, and continues to lead the league with 31 goals and 68 points.

Earlier this season, Grant became the fifth player in league history with 1,000 career points and is the NLL’s Player of the Month for January and February.

Derek Hopcroft also had four goals with an assist and captain Gavin Prout totaled a goal and six assists for Colorado (7-1), which played for the first time since a 21-10 loss at home to Calgary on Feb. 24.

Luke Wiles scored four goals and Tracey Keluskey three in the latest loss for Buffalo (2-5), which has dropped a franchise-worst five in a row. Mark Steenhuis had six assists among seven points for the Bandits.

Anthony Cosmo made 31 saves on 46 shots in his Buffalo debut before being replaced by Mike Thompson in the fourth quarter. The Bandits acquired Cosmo, the 2007 NLL Goaltender of the Year in 2007, on Feb. 17 from Minnesota for two future first-round draft picks.
