Rape Reported In Amherst

AMHERST, NY ( release ) Amherst Police releasing information to Eyewitness News Monday that a twenty-year-old female reported that on 07/05/10 at approximately 1:00 am., she was walking westbound on Wehrle Drive under the Thruway overpass when a male jumped out of some bushes, grabbed her, pushed her to the ground, and then raped her.

The woman further stated that the suspect went through her purse and took her debit card and $20.

He then fled on foot in an unknown direction. A woman in the area heard the victim crying and notified police. The victim was treated at Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital.

The suspect is described as a black male, 6'0”, 180 lbs., black braided hair, brown eyes, medium build, wearing a black v-neck short sleeve tee shirt, dark jeans, and diamond earrings. No weapons were reported.
