5.0 Magnitude Quake Felt in WNY, Across Northeast

BUFFALO, NY (WKBW) -- People throughout the Northeast, including Western New York, felt a rumble just before 2:00 p.m. Wednesday afternoon.

The U.S. Geological Survey reports that a 5.0 magnitude earthquake struck around 1:40 p.m. just north of Ottawa, near the Ontario/Quebec border in Canada.

The quake was felt all over the Northeast United States and Canada, including Boston, Maine, Montreal, Buffalo, Rochester, Toronto and others.
