Nearly eight months after successfully bidding on the property, Ellicott Development has officially acquired the former Grace Manor nursing home property near Kleinhans Music Hall.
Ellicott Development, through its founder and current gubernatorial candidate Carl Paladino, bid $1.6 million for the North Street complex. Grace Manor closed nearly two years ago because of financial difficulties. The deal closed on Friday, June 18 according to documents filed in the Erie County Clerk's office.
William Paladino, Ellicott Development vice president, said his company is considering a number of options for the property.
"We are working on two or three different scenarios," Paladino said. "We're going to put up a sign and see what happens."
Paladino said his first preference is to renovate the building to house professional offices, although he did not rule out a residential conversion.
"We're going to give a little bit of time," Paladino said.
