Developer Rocco Termini's plan for the Lafayette Hotel will cost $35 million. Termini tells Business First it will be a one stop shop for weddIngs and special events. Some local companies like Butterwood Desserts and Woyshner's Flower Shop are proposing opening locations in the hotel building. Pearl Street Grill and Brewery would take over the Lafayette Tap Room space and expand there. The Hotel Lafayette is one of three projects Termini has planned for Washington Street.
Kaleida Health is investing $20 million to go completely digital by the end of 2012. This week, Buffalo General started to use a bar coded system for patient medication to prevent errors. Buffalo General is the fifth Kaleida hospital to launch the program. Studies show that up to 98,000 people in the U.S. die each year from medical errors.
Clarence businesses are teaming up to celebrate summer. The Meet in the Center Merchants Association will host a Caribbean Night in Clarence Center on Friday, June 25. The second annual event is free and kicks off at 5pm with music, a car show, activities for children and special menus by restaurants.
