Traveler Advisory for Route 33

BUFFALO, NY (WKBW) -- The New York State Department of Transportation has announced nighttime construction work on NY Route 33 (Kensington Expressway), in the City of Buffalo will begin on Thursday, June 24 that will result in travel restrictions as follows:

Thursday, June 24

NY Route 33 eastbound (outbound) will be closed at the Humboldt Parkway exit from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. No thru traffic will be permitted. Traffic will be directed to follow a posted detour on Humboldt Parkway to East Delavan Avenue where they may access the ramp to NY Route 198 westbound from Northland Avenue, and access the ramp to NY Route 33 eastbound at East Delavan Avenue.

Friday, June 25

NY Route 33 westbound (inbound) will be closed at NY Route 198 from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. No thru traffic will be permitted. Traffic will be directed to follow a posted detour on NY Route 198, Main Street, and Humboldt Parkway and access the ramp to NY Route 33 westbound (inbound) at East Utica Street.

The NY Route 198 eastbound ramp to NY Route 33 westbound (inbound) will be closed from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. Traffic will be directed to exit NY Route 198 eastbound at Main Street and follow a posted detour on Humboldt Parkway and access the ramp to NY Route 33 westbound at East Utica Street.

The NY Route 198 eastbound ramp to NY Route 33 eastbound (outbound) will remain open.

New York State Police will be on site to assist with traffic control and speed enforcement. Motorists are advised to proceed with caution and obey all posted speed limits along the detour routes.
