Niagara Falls, NY (WKBW-TV) - Tuesday afternoon.
6th Street.
Niagara Falls.
Police bust into a home and find a stash of drugs and cash-- arresting three members of a suspected gang.
The gang, known as The 8th street boys, has long been on the radar for police-- they arrested the suspected leader back in March.
This time- 46-year old James Ashley and his sons, Jamil Lee Ashley and Michael "Midway" Ashley were taken into custody.
Police say they found 5lbs of pot and $2,500 in cash inside 459 Sixth St.
Neighbors say the gang terrorized their street.
It's the latest effort by Niagara Falls Police to round up and dismantle city gangs-- and they may soon get some help from the Federal Government for more action.
U.S. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand, (D) New York, is sponsoring legislation that would give grant money to police departments across the country to specifically battle gang activity.
