BUFFALO, NY (WKBW) -- Officials are investigating a deadly fire that broke out late Tuesday night on Wyoming Avenue on Buffalo's east side.

An elderly man on oxygen became trapped inside after the fire broke out. The man's daughter tried to rescue him but the intense flames forced her to escape out a bedroom window.

Neighbors say they heard loud noises before seeing flames shoot from the home.

The fire caused extensive damage to an occupied home next door, though the two adults in that home were not injured.

Buffalo Fire Marshalls, ATF and Buffalo Homicide are invesiting the cause of the fire.
