CLARENCE, NY (WKBW) -- It's been closed now for 21 years, but for decades, there was only one place to be when Western New Yorkers wanted some cool summer fun.
Crystal Beach sat along the Lake Erie shoreline in Canada since the 1920's. Now, thanks to a collector in Clarence, some relics from those golden days are up for auction to the highest bidder.
Signs dating back to the 20's and and old 1930's turn-style are just a few of the items that were available. The memorabilia points to a different time in history, when red hots were only 30 cents and the big ballroom was off-limits on Sundays.
Many of the items, though now in new hands, will remain in Western New York any may even go on display for area residents to enjoy.
