LOCKPORT, NY (WKBW) -- Renee Greco was in a great mood after just hearing about a pending job offer on June 8, 2009.
Hours later, the 24-year-old youth counselor was found dead.
Greco's friends held a candlelight vigil in her honor on Tuesday, exactly one year after she was killed.
"We are still grieving over her," said Jocelyn Buczek. "There's a lot of people who care about her."
Greco was working at Avenue House, a group home for troubled teens in Lockport.
She was working alone when two of the residents allegedly covered her with a blanket and bludgeoned her to death.
Robert Thousand, 17, and Anthony Allen, 18, both of Rochester, have each been charged with second-degree murder, first-degree robbery and second-degree burglary in connection with Greco's death.
The two teens are scheduled to go on trial later this month.
