September 27, 2013 Updated Jun 9, 2010 at 7:07 AM EDT

BUFFALO, NY (WKBW) -- The local band, 'More Than Me' has opened up for such acts as Brett Michaels, The Black Eyed Peas and The Gin Blossoms.

Now they can also claim the winning title to a national battle of the bands competition for a chance to play with the likes of Paul McCartney, Stevie Wonder and Pearl Jam in London, England.

The group competed with ten others in the on-line Hard Rock Cafe MTM Contest.

More Than Me are a four-piece band from Buffalo featuring brothers Ryan and Todd Doyle (rhythm guitar/vocals and drums/vocals respectively), Joey Nicastro (lead guitar/vocals) and Justin Rizzo (bass/vocals).

The band's Pop/Rock sound allows them the freedom to play a wide variety of venues: from intimate acoustic coffee houses to clubs packed with hundreds of excited listeners, from larger college campus crowds to festival audiences of over 10,000. With over 500 shows, and at least 100,000 miles worth of national touring under their belts, the group has plenty of experience delivering a great live performance. Throughout their career, MORE THAN ME has consistently connected to their audience, at home and on the road.

More Than Me will be releasing their self-titled debut record in the fall and, true to form, are hitting the road again at the end of June, crossing the Atlantic, taking their show to an international audience. As the Ambassadors of Rock Battle of the Bands winner, More Than Me will take the stage at Hard Rock Calling, playing the same festival as Paul McCartney, Stevie Wonder, and Pearl Jam. After their time with Sir Paul, they’ll return to play some national dates, including Summerfest in Milwaukee - the largest festival in the U.S.
